Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of patient wards, offices, washrooms, corridors, and high-touch surfaces.
• Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control (IPC) standards within a medical environment.
• Safely handle, segregate, and dispose of medical and general waste in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure continuous availability of cleaning supplies and report shortages proactively.
• Maintain and properly use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Support deep cleaning exercises and emergency sanitation requirements in sensitive or high-risk areas.
• Follow established protocols when handling biohazard materials and contaminated surfaces.
• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health and institutional hygiene standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Minimum KCSE/O-Level certificate or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare facility (mandatory).
• Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention, sanitation procedures, and safe chemical handling.
• High attention to detail with the ability to consistently maintain cleanliness standards.
• Physically fit with the ability to perform manual tasks over extended periods.
• Reliable, disciplined, and able to follow strict operational protocols.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
