Background

Our client, a leading distributor of raw materials for animal feed production, is seeking to recruit a Clearance Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely, efficient, and compliant clearance of imported cargo and supporting seamless logistics operations from the port to the Athi River warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all customs and port clearance processes for imported raw materials.
  • Handle all import documentation including IDF, CoC, permits, invoices, and Bills of Lading.
  • Liaise with KRA, KEBS, Port Health, and other regulatory agencies for smooth clearance.
  • Track shipment and container status from arrival to delivery.
  • Verify accuracy and compliance of all import documents.
  • Maintain updated clearance records and files.
  • Communicate shipment status to internal teams and external partners.
  • Coordinate transportation of cleared goods to the Athi River warehouse.
  • Manage and reconcile clearance-related costs and invoices.
  • Identify and resolve clearance delays and compliance risks.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years experience in customs clearance, preferably within agriculture, manufacturing, or FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of customs laws, port procedures, and import regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with iCMS.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
