JOB DESCRIPTION - CLERK OF WORKS

ROLE AND CONTEXT

OBJECTIVES

Responsible for monitoring site activities, tracking work progress, and carrying out re-measurement of executed works.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years relevant experience on a similar role.
  • BSc in Civil/Structural Engineering (First Class Honours) from a reputable university.
  • Hands-on experience in software for stress and strength of materials analysis.

PREFERRED QUALITIES

  • Self-driven with a proactive attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong coordination, follow-up, and reporting skills.
  • Practical knowledge of site operations and construction processes.

EXPERIENCE, ROLES & RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Experience in site supervision & work execution.
  • Good understanding of construction drawings & measurements.
  • Accurate re-measurement & quantity recording skills.
  • Strong organizational & communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & reporting.
  • Able to work independently & follow up on site activities.

REPORTS TO - Maintenance Manager

KEY OUTPUTS / TASKS

  • Conduct re-measurement of executed works and maintain accurate records.
  • Verify quantities completed for payment applications and valuation purposes.
  • Assist in preparing site reports, progress updates, and measurement sheets.
  • Maintain proper documentation of site measurements and executed works.
  • Participate in site inspections and progress meetings when required.
  • Check site works to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in site inspections to verify workmanship and material quality.
  • Report defects, non-conformities, and site issues.
  • Support coordination with contractors and site engineers to resolve basic issues.
  • Monitor daily site progress and report delays or concerns.
  • Assist in ensuring basic HSE requirements are followed on site.
  • Verify delivered materials against approved specifications.
