Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for patients with chronic illnesses including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, asthma, COPD, chronic kidney disease, obesity, and related conditions;
  • Develop individualized management plans and monitor treatment outcomes using evidence-based clinical guidelines;
  • Provide patient education and counselling on lifestyle modification, medication adherence, and disease self-management;
  • Coordinate referrals and multidisciplinary care for patients requiring specialist input;
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and development of NCD clinical protocols;
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation within the hospital electronic medical records system;
  • Mentor nursing staff and support continuous professional development activities within the NCD clinic.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
  • Current registration and valid practicing license with the Clinical Officers Council (COC) of Kenya.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Management from a recognized institution.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in managing patients with non-communicable diseases in a hospital or specialized outpatient setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient counselling skills.

Added Advantage

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Postgraduate training or certification in Cardiology.
  • Experience working in specialized hypertension, diabetes, or cardiovascular clinics.
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Demonstrated involvement in clinical quality improvement initiatives.
