Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Officer to join our growing team in Nairobi. The Clinical Officer will play a crucial role in delivering excellent patient care, managing clinical operations, and contributing to the overall success of our clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on maternal health in Kenya.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Officer will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to mothers.
  • Diagnosing and managing common illnesses and conditions in women and newborns.
  • Performing basic obstetric and gynecological procedures.
  • Educating patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and family planning.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Collaborating with nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and clinic management.
  • Adhering to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as professional ethical standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and a current practicing license from the Clinical Officers' Council of Kenya.
  • At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in obstetrics, gynecology, or pediatrics.
  • Proficiency in basic obstetric and gynecological procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Strong commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care.
  • Knowledge of the Kenyan healthcare system and relevant policies.
