Position overview

Kentap Medical Center is seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Officer to join its clinical team. The successful candidate will work across the Mlolongo and Mavoko SNP branches depending on operational requirements. The position requires a professional who can assess and manage patients confidently, recognise urgent cases and work effectively in a busy medical facility.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, obtain relevant medical histories and conduct clinical examinations.
• Request appropriate investigations and interpret results within the authorised scope of practice.
• Develop appropriate treatment and patient-management plans.
• Recognise emergencies and arrange timely referral or escalation.
• Maintain accurate, complete and confidential patient records.
• Educate patients on treatment, prevention and follow-up care.
• Work closely with laboratory and other clinical staff.
• Follow infection-prevention, patient-safety and facility procedures.
• Participate in assigned shifts, including applicable nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Perform other professional duties within the authorised scope of practice.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognised institution.
• Registration with the Clinical Officers Council.
• Current and valid practising licence.
• At least three years of relevant clinical experience.
• Experience working in a busy outpatient or medical facility.
• Strong clinical judgement and patient-management skills.
• Good communication, teamwork and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work across the Mlolongo and Mavoko SNP branches.
• Availability to report on 1 September 2026.
