CLINICAL OFFICER

Job Purpose

The Clinical Officer will provide quality clinical services through patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and referral while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations and clinical assessments.
• Take medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage conditions within the scope of practice.
• Prescribe and administer treatment in accordance with applicable guidelines.
• Request and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
• Provide emergency care and stabilization where required.
• Refer patients to appropriate specialists or facilities when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Provide health education and preventive-care services.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and health programmes.
• Promote infection prevention and patient safety.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, laboratory staff, radiology staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications & Skills

• Relevant Clinical Medicine qualification from a recognized institution.
• Valid professional registration and practising licence.
• Relevant clinical experience is an advantage.
• Good diagnostic, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Strong commitment to patient-centred care.
