Medical Jobs. KEMRI Jobs. Looking for a medical research job in Kenya? KEMRI is hiring a Clinical Research Scientist – Kisumu to conduct clinical research studies and contribute to scientific publications and healthcare innovations. The role is based in Kisumu and experience in clinical research is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing pre-clinical and clinical research projects and/or supervise designated aspects of the work
  • General diagnosis, care, treatment and provision of specialized clinical care for study participants
  • Assist in carrying out fieldwork and pre-clinical and clinical experimental procedures
  • Carry out experimental and/or developmental work
  • Contributing to interpretation and validation of results
  • Conduct community diagnosis, care and treatment during Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities
  • Assist in organization of the internal scientific seminars
  • Guiding visiting scientific students /students on attachment
  • Maintaining the scientific pre-clinical and clinical facility
  • Planning and coordinating meetings for internal project teams and external collaborators or visitors
  • Hosting or participating in scheduled conference calls with international study partners
  • Developing standard operating procedures (SOP) for data collection, processing and the management and deployment of study drugs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields; – Medicine and surgery or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution. Mandatory
  • Masters’ degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology or in a related field is preferred. Mandatory
  • Proficiency in computer application Mandatory
  • Planning and Organizational skills Mandatory
  • Communication and reporting skills Mandatory
  • Interpersonal skills Mandatory
  • Creativity and Innovativeness Mandatory
  • Critical thinking skills Mandatory
  • Team player. Mandatory
