Close Protection Officers (CPOs) provide security and safety for clients through constant vigilance, threat assessment, and proactive planning, employing a combination of physical protection, risk management, surveillance, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Protection: Shielding principals from harm, harassment, or other attacks through physical intervention when necessary. Risk Assessment: Continuously identifying and evaluating threats and vulnerabilities to develop and implement appropriate security plans. Advance Work & Reconnaissance: Conducting thorough site surveys of venues, hotels, and travel routes to identify potential risks, secure entry/exit points, and plan contingencies before the client arrives. Surveillance: Monitoring the environment, suspicious activities, and individuals to detect potential threats and prevent security breaches. Operational Planning: Developing comprehensive plans for travel, events, and daily routines, including safe routes and procedures. Escort & Travel Security: Accompanying clients during business and social trips, ensuring safe transportation, and providing tactical driving skills if needed.

Observation and Situational Awareness: The ability to maintain a high level of awareness of surroundings to detect threats and suspicious behaviors. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Essential for clear, discreet communication and building positive relationships with clients and other staff in high-profile environments. Risk Management: A deep understanding of security protocols and the ability to adapt them to evolving threats. Physical Fitness and First Aid: Being physically prepared for demanding situations and trained in basic first aid to handle emergencies. Tactical Driving: Proficiency in handling vehicles to ensure safe and secure transportation, especially in challenging situations. Discretion and Professionalism: A high degree of professionalism and sensitivity to operate effectively around VIPs without being intrusive. Teamwork: The ability to work effectively with other security personnel to create a comprehensive and cohesive protection plan.
