Description

The College Manager provides overall strategic, academic, operational and financial leadership for Medprime Training College. The role ensures the college operates effectively, remains compliant with regulators, delivers quality training, and supports growth across all campuses.

The Manager leads all Heads of Department and works closely with the Principal, Deans and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership and Governance

  • Lead the college’s vision, strategy and long-term plans.
  • Guide and supervise all Heads of Departments.
  • Develop and approve institutional policies.
  • Ensure the college operates in line with its mission and values.

2. Academic Oversight (through the Principal and Deans)

  • Oversee academic quality, teaching standards and student outcomes.
  • Ensure proper management of examinations and assessments.
  • Approve new or revised academic programmes.
  • Support innovation and market-driven training programmes.

3. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with TVETA, NITA and other regulators.
  • Approve and sign regulatory submissions and audit reports.
  • Lead institutional quality assurance and continuous improvement.

4. Financial and Resource Management (through the Head of Finance)

  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning and financial performance.
  • Approve major expenditure, payroll and procurement plans.
  • Guide resource allocation and campus expansion decisions.

5. Human Resource Oversight (through the Head of HR)

  • Approve recruitment of senior staff.
  • Oversee staff performance management and discipline.
  • Promote a professional and accountable work culture.
  • Support staff development and succession planning.

6. Operations and Administration (through the College Administrator)

  • Ensure smooth operations across all campuses.
  • Oversee facilities, safety, IT, procurement and administrative systems.
  • Support effective coordination between campuses.

7. Risk Management and Safety

  • Identify and manage academic, operational and financial risks.
  • Ensure emergency and safety procedures are in place.

8. Partnerships, Marketing and Growth

  • Build partnerships with hospitals, training institutions and industry.
  • Represent the college in external forums.
  • Approve marketing strategies and student recruitment plans.

9. Communication and Culture

  • Ensure clear communication across all campuses.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism and high performance culture.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Healthcare, Leadership or a related field.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in senior academic, operations or institutional leadership.
  • Good understanding of TVET operations, accreditation and compliance.
  • Experience leading senior teams or multi-campus operations.
