The Position
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the strategic position of College Registrar. The Registrar will be a key member of the College’s senior management team, responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the Registrar’s Department. This role is critical to maintaining the academic integrity of the institution and ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective services to our students.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all aspects of student records and data management, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with TVET regulations.
- Managing the entire student lifecycle from admission to graduation, including registration, examinations, and certification.
- Providing leadership in the implementation and management of the Student Management Information System (SMIS).
- Collaborating with academic departments to support curriculum development, course scheduling, and catalog production.
- Serving as a key resource for academic policy and regulatory compliance, including adherence to standards by different regulators in the health care industry and other relevant legislation.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in a registrar’s office or a similar administrative role in a TVET or higher education institution.
- A deep understanding of the Kenyan TVET sector, including the regulatory landscape.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with a proven ability to manage teams and budgets effectively.
- Strong technological proficiency and experience with student information systems.
Key Competencies:
- A sound understanding of the reforms taking place in the education sector in Kenya;
- Demonstrated understanding of application of technology to deliver Records and Registration services;
- A proven record in working with diverse population;
- A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt change;
- Ability to collaborate effectively with college departments and cross-functional teams;
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity;
- Results-oriented;
- Managerial and administrative skills backed up by a demonstrable track record.
