Our client, a reputable mid-sized law firm based in Nairobi and recognized for its expertise in commercial and real estate law, is seeking to recruit a qualified and motivated Advocate to join its expanding legal practice. The ideal candidate will support the firm in handling conveyancing matters, commercial transactions, and legal advisory services.
Responsibilities or duties
- Oversee conveyancing matters from initiation through to completion.
- Draft, examine, and negotiate property and conveyancing documentation.
- Prepare sale agreements, leases, transfers, securities, and completion documents.
- Conduct legal due diligence relating to property transactions.
- Facilitate property registration processes while ensuring compliance with land laws and regulations.
- Liaise with land registries, survey offices, and the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning for approvals and registrations.
- Draft and review commercial contracts and transactional documents.
- Provide legal opinions and advisory support on commercial and real estate matters.
- Ensure all transactions meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with lenders, valuers, estate agents, and surveyors to ensure smooth transaction execution.
- Offer timely legal guidance and progress updates to clients.
- Undertake any additional assignments as delegated by the firm.
Qualifications or requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years post-admission experience within a busy legal practice environment.
- Must possess a valid practicing certificate.
- An upper 2nd Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
