Role Objective

Our client is a fast-growing law firm with a strong presence across Kenya, providing legal services in a wide range of practice areas. They are looking to recruit a qualified Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate who will support the firm\'s commercial and conveyancing practice by delivering practical legal solutions and exceptional client service.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Offer legal guidance on commercial, corporate, property, and real estate matters.
  • Advise clients throughout property acquisition, disposal, leasing, and related transactions.
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and finalize sale agreements, lease agreements, commercial contracts, loan securities, and conveyancing documents.
  • Conduct legal due diligence on property transactions and commercial deals to identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients and external stakeholders, including financial institutions, land valuers, estate agents, government offices, and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and oversee completion of transactional documentation.
  • Facilitate registration and perfection of legal documents with the relevant authorities, including the Land Registry, Survey of Kenya, National Lands Commission, and county government offices where applicable.
  • Prepare engagement letters, professional fee proposals, and disbursement schedules.
  • Monitor compliance with statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements governing commercial and property transactions.
  • Support transactional matters involving intellectual property where necessary.
  • Maintain organized client files, transaction records, and document management systems.
  • Foster strong client relationships while contributing to the firm\'s business development initiatives.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned within the Commercial and Conveyancing Department.

Job Specifications and Qualifications

  • An upper 2nd Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
  • Two (2) years Post admission experience in a busy law firm.
  • A valid practicing certificate.

  • Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to ethical legal practice.
  • A client-centered approach with excellent relationship management skills.
