Background
Spinners & Spinners Limited (“S&S”) is a vertically integrated design and manufacturing facility of Textile Product Solutions that positively impact the lives of our consumers. Based in Kenya, and established in 1979, S&S is a heritage company that has deep roots in entrepreneurship within the region.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a structured and execution-focused Commercial Lead to own the commercial execution rhythm across our customer growth, compliance, pipeline conversion, and repeat demand functions.
This is not a traditional sales management role. You will be the engine room of our commercial operations—translating strategy into weekly and monthly execution, driving accountability, and ensuring that activity converts into real movement: orders, repeat demand, cash, and customer progression.
You will coach and build the Customer Growth team, strengthen cross-functional execution, and reduce dependency on any single person. If you are someone who thrives on structure, follow-through, and turning pipeline into performance, we want to hear from you.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Growth & Pipeline Discipline
Own the customer growth rhythm and pipeline follow-up. Drive conversion, repeat demand, and customer issue closure.
Translate strategy into weekly and monthly execution plans with clear owners, dates, blockers, and decisions.
Commercial Execution & Compliance
Align compliance, dispatch, receivables, and internal blockers to ensure seamless order-to-cash execution.
Hold the team to movement, not activity: orders, repeat demand, cash, customer progression, market insight, and decisions.
Team Coaching & Capability Building
Coach the Customer Growth team to improve performance, accountability, and commercial discipline.
Build leadership depth by clarifying accountability and reducing dependence on one person.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Use data, customer feedback, pipeline, GP, cash, stock, and market learning to make faster, better decisions.
Strengthen cross-functional execution with Finance, Operations, Production, HRD, and other teams where needed.
Key Deliverables
Customer Growth team operating rhythm established and maintained
Pipeline follow-up and conversion visibility improved
Repeat customer discipline strengthened
Reduced customer and internal execution issues
Role outputs delivered with clear evidence
Actions closed or escalated with owner and date
Quarterly improvement shown in capability, discipline, and impact
Operating Rhythm
Daily: Identify what moved, what is blocked, what was learned, and what decision is needed
Weekly: Review role KPIs, customer/product/market movement, cash or stock blockers, and actions due
Monthly: Review performance, customer/market/product health, recovery decisions, and resource needs
Quarterly: Review KPI delivery, behaviour, growth, capability, and next-quarter focus
What You Bring (Skills & Competencies)
Commercial Operations: Experience managing commercial execution, customer growth, and pipeline discipline.
Team Coaching: Ability to coach, develop, and hold a team accountable for results.
Problem-Solving & Judgement: Ability to separate activity from real movement and make practical decisions.
Communication & Follow-Through: Clear communication and practical follow-through on commitments.
Systems Proficiency: Ability to use trackers, Excel, SAP, S&S Connect, or equivalent tools accurately.
Commercial Understanding: Strong grasp of revenue, GP, cash, stock, customer quality, and risk.
Cross-Functional Maturity: Ability to coordinate across functions without blame or delay.
Our Expectations
At S&S, we look for individuals who don't just do a job, but who live our values. You will be expected to:
Understand and passionately execute the Company's strategy.
Be commercially focused and driven by customer growth.
Be a collaborative problem-solver and a supportive team player.
Ultimately, be self-driven and accountable for realizing the company's goals.
