Your Purpose

As a Commis II Baker on board our cruise ships, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of baked goods served to our guests. Your expertise and dedication will help maintain the high culinary standards we are known for. You will be responsible for the preparation of a wide range of bakery items in compliance with company recipes and food safety protocols. The bakery items you create will contribute to the guests' overall experience, bringing joy and satisfaction to their time on board. In this role, you will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure that all items are prepared in a timely and efficient manner, following the highest standards.

Your work directly impacts the guest experience, contributing to their enjoyment of meals and the overall dining experience. By maintaining impeccable standards of hygiene and food safety, you help ensure that every bakery item is both delicious and safe for consumption. Your ability to execute recipes accurately and efficiently allows the rest of the kitchen team to thrive and maintain smooth service. Your role in providing high-quality baked goods ensures that the cruise line maintains its reputation for exceptional culinary offerings, helping to build guest loyalty and satisfaction.

Your Journey So Far

We are looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience as a Commis II Baker, preferably aboard a cruise ship or in a major hotel setting that adheres to International Food Safety Standards.
  • Solid experience in bakery production, demonstrating your ability to prepare a variety of baked goods to high-quality standards.
  • Exposure to fast-paced, professional kitchen environments, where you’ve honed your ability to work efficiently while maintaining the highest quality output.
  • Developed time management skills, allowing you to produce bakery items within tight schedules without compromising on quality.
  • Experience that will be instrumental in helping us deliver outstanding bakery items that contribute to an exceptional guest experience.

Your Essentials

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant certification in baking or culinary arts from a recognized institution
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) to communicate effectively with colleagues and management
  • Proven experience in the role of Commis II Baker, either on a cruise ship or in a major hotel operating under International Food Safety Standards
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • A positive attitude and a passion for delivering outstanding baked goods
