Communications Intern

  • The Communications Intern will support storytelling, media content creation, and documentationforourcommunity development initiatives. This role is ideal for a recent graduate in Communications, Journalism,Public Relations, or a related field who is eager to grow in a purpose-driven environment. The intern will contribute by writing and editing stories, capturing photos and videos, and assistingwithvisualcontent for donor reports, social media, and internal documentation.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Support in writing, editing, and proofread compelling human-interest stories and success storiesfromproject activities.
  • Take high-quality photographs and short video clips of field activities and beneficiaries.
  • Assist in creating engaging social media and donor content.
  • Support the design of simple communication materials (flyers, posters, infographics) usingtoolslikeCanva or Adobe Suite.
  • Maintain and organize media content (photo and video libraries).
  • Assist in updating website or blog content as needed.
  • Participate in project activities to capture live documentation and stories.
  • Ensure consent is obtained for all media subjects as per organizational guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A recent graduate with a degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, PublicRelations, or related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
  • Basic photography and video recording skills using a phone or camera.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or Photoshop is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
  • Creative, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • A team player with a passion for community development and social impact.
