Background information about the job or company (

FC Africa is seeking a mid-level Communications Officer, based in Nairobi, to support FC Africa's growing East Africa presence on a 50% (part-time) basis, working closely with the Director of Operations to build dedicated capacity in this area.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Develop and implement communication strategies and annual communication plans.
  • Translate technical programme outputs into compelling stories and knowledge products.
  • Ensure compliance with donor branding and FC Africa communication standards.
  • Manage digital communications and website content, including day-to-day updates to fcafrica.com.
  • Review donor-facing and external communications materials for consistency with FC Africa's brand and international audience standards.
  • Ensure communications materials and messaging stay grounded in current programme realities and organizational priorities.

Qualifications or requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent English writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Experience needed

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in strategic or development communications.
  • Experience with donor-funded programmes.
