Background

Relonke is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering communities in Kenya through various development initiatives. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Officer to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote Relonke's mission and programs.
  • Create engaging content for various platforms, including website, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Manage Relonke's social media presence and engage with online communities.
  • Organize and coordinate communication activities for events and campaigns.
  • Monitor media coverage and public perception of Relonke.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Communications Officer or in a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of communication principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations is an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in communications.

This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya. Relonke offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
