Responsibilities

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies to promote UNEP's work and initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive communication plans.
  • Creating engaging content for various platforms (website, social media, press releases, etc.).
  • Managing media relations and responding to media inquiries.
  • Organizing and promoting events and campaigns.
  • Monitoring and evaluating communication efforts.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • A Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms.
  • Experience working with international organizations is an asset.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in communications.

This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya.
