Description
Lifebridge Hospital is seeking a qualified and compassionate Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) to provide preventive, promotive, and basic curative oral health services. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality oral healthcare delivery in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide preventive and basic curative oral health services to patients
- Conduct oral health assessments, screenings, and patient education
- Perform scaling, polishing, extractions (as permitted), and other COHO procedures
- Promote oral health awareness and preventive practices within the community
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
- Assist dentists and other healthcare professionals during procedures when required
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of dental equipment and materials
- Uphold professional ethics and patient confidentiality at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution
- Mandatory registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
- Valid practicing license
- 1–2 years’ experience in a busy clinical healthcare setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate is an added advantage
