Content Management Consultant – Bebbo Parenting Programme, (ECD), Global Programme Division, 8 Months, Remote, International

UNICEF has developed Bebbo, a free parenting application that guides parents and caregivers from pregnancy through the early years of a child’s life. Bebbo provides evidence-based, age-tailored guidance across health, nutrition, responsive care, play and early learning, safety, child protection and parental well-being and mental health, and offers functional features that allow caregivers to record and monitor immunizations, growth and developmental milestones.

The application is available at no cost on iOS and Android, functions offline, and is designed for multilingual deployment, with centrally curated content managed in a Drupal-based Content Management System (CMS) and adapted and translated by each participating country.

Minimum requirements:

Education: An advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in communications, marketing, digital media, information management, information systems, information and communication technology, library or information science, international development, social sciences, business administration, or another field relevant to the assignment.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in digital content management, content operations, digital communications, product support, knowledge management or a closely related field.
  • At least two (2) years of experience supporting content management of a consumer-facing digital product, mobile application or web platform, preferably in parenting, early childhood development, health, education or another public-interest area.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience of more than two (2) years using a content management system to create, edit, organize, localize, publish and qualityassure content and media. Practical experience with Drupal or another enterprise or open-source CMS is required; direct Drupal experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting country, field or client teams remotely, including troubleshooting, workflow guidance, follow-up and coordination with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and developing technical documentation.
  • Experience developing user guidance, standard operating procedures or training materials and delivering virtual training, demonstrations or technical clinics.

Skills:

  • Good understanding of CMS roles, permissions, editorial workflows, metadata, taxonomies, media management, versioning, translation or localization and content quality assurance.
  • Ability to document issues clearly with reproducible steps and evidence and to coordinate resolution and retesting with developers or technical service providers.
  • Strong organization, facilitation and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple country requests and deliverables with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams of programme specialists, content experts, communications colleagues, designers, developers, vendors and government or implementing partners.
  • Knowledge of UNICEF's operating environment and ability to apply UNICEF digital, accessibility, dataprotection and child-safeguarding standards.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Knowledge of one or more languages used in Bebbo programme countries is an asset (Russian, Albanian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Greek, Kyrgyz, Montenegrin, Macedonian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Tajik, Ukrainian, Uzbek, Karakalpak, Turkish, Ndebele, Shona, Spanish, Bangla)

Desirables:

  • Experience with a multi-lingual parenting, early childhood, health, education or youth-focused digital product.
  • Previous experience supporting UNICEF Country Offices, another United Nations entity, government counterparts or development partners.
  • Familiarity with Digital Public Goods, open-source solutions and multilingual content governance.
  • Good understanding of CMS roles, permissions, editorial workflows, metadata, taxonomies, media management, versioning, translation or localization and content quality assurance.
  • Ability to document issues clearly with reproducible steps and evidence and to coordinate resolution and retesting with developers or technical service providers.
