About the role
Moyee does not buy its growth. We earn it - with stories, faces, proof and moments people actually want to watch, share and join. The ambition is concrete: thousands of new customers finding their way to the Moyee website, while the customers we already have get an endless stream of reasons to believe they chose the right brand.
That takes a rare kind of person. Someone with Hollywood presence in front of the camera - the charisma to stop a scroll, be the face, and make people feel something in the first two seconds. And Silicon Valley discipline behind the screen - the instinct to test, measure, kill and scale, treating a channel like a product and growth like a science.
Most people are one or the other. We are only interested in the person who is both.
Why Kenya - on purpose
This is where it happens. We roast in Nairobi, at our own Moyee roastery. We run a Republic × Moyee café where the coffee, the community and the culture come together. Tess, the Kenyan barista champion, is already on the team. And we're growing fast.
This role sits right in the middle of it: at the source, with the people, where the real Moyee story is made - and beamed out to the world.
The two sides of you
In front of the camera - the star. You shoot, you host, you perform. You are not afraid to be in the frame and carry a story on your face and your voice. You know what a hook is because you have made hundreds of them. You have the presence that makes a stranger stop, watch to the end, and follow.
Behind the screen - the scientist. You live in the numbers. Retention curves, hook rates, watch time, likes, shares, saves, comments, DMs. Every post is a hypothesis. Every week is an experiment with a conclusion. You grow channels the way a product team grows a product - deliberately, measurably, relentlessly. You read your own results without flattering yourself.
What you'll do
- Know what moves the crowd. Identify the hooks, formats and trends that work - for Moyee and across the wider social landscape - and build a living hook & format playbook the whole team draws from.
- Own how we tell the story. You don't own the funnel - you own the story. Focus especially on SEE and THINK: winning first attention and building consideration, so the world discovers Moyee and wants to know more.
- Tell the FairChain story. Where our coffee comes from, who our farmers are, and the impact behind every cup - biocompost, ending child labour, female empowerment, tree planting.
- Test every single week. At least one deliberate experiment weekly - hypothesis before, conclusion after. Kill what dies, scale what wins, report the learning, not just the numbers.
- Be the lead creator. Your own hooks, your own face, your own experiments - so the strategy is never theoretical. You prove it before you ask the team to do it.
- Run collaborations & win-and-shares. Spot the partners, creators and communities that belong next to Moyee - including local collaborations right here in Kenya. Bring that East African lifestyle to Europe.
- Grow the Makers Team. Scout talent, onboard them to the playbook and the brand, and multiply the engine beyond any one person - including you.
- Guard the brand. Unlimited speed and rawness in Stories and creator channels; the official Moyee feed stays clean, curated and via the Editorial Board - no exceptions, including your own ideas.
This role is not:
- Not a social media admin job. Scheduling posts is the smallest part. Knowing why a post will work - and proving it - is the job.
- Not a behind-the-desk strategy job. If you won't pick up the camera and be the face, this is the wrong role.
- Not a free-for-all on the official page. The official Moyee feed runs via the Editorial Board. The speed and the experiments live in Stories, tests and creator channels.
- Not a solo act. You set the example and grow the Makers Team that multiplies it.
What we're looking for
This is a high bar on purpose. We are going for the best. If you cannot prove the points below with links and numbers, this is not your role yet.
- 5+ years growing social channels - proven. A verifiable track record of building and growing social channels from small to serious scale. You will be asked for the handle, the starting point, the current numbers, and the dates.
- You are the face - on all our social channels. You host, present and perform on camera. Not just producing behind others.
- Documented growth, not vibes. You can show a channel you took from a low baseline to significant reach, with the numbers to back it, and explain how - the experiments, the hooks, the turning points.
- Data fluency. You work natively with analytics (native platform insights, and ideally tools like Meta/TikTok/YouTube Studio, GA4, Piwik PRO, or similar). You can read a retention graph and tell us what to change.
- A viral proof point. At least one piece of content that genuinely broke out - strong view counts, shares or follower spikes - that you can point to and explain.
- Kenyan-rooted, internationally-minded. You create from Kenya but for a global audience - you get what lands in Amsterdam, Berlin and beyond.
Nice to have:
- A real interest in coffee or impact. You'll be making video about origin, our farmers and our impact programs, so caring about the why behind Moyee is a big plus.
Who you are
An influencer at heart who knows what makes a crowd move - from making, not theory. A maker who shoots, edits, posts and appears on camera. A storyteller who thinks in audiences and attention, and ties every piece to a reason for the world to discover Moyee. Data-honest - a post that flopped is a lesson, not a debate. Brand-disciplined - unlimited Stories, clean official pages. A connector who spots the right partners. A talent-spotter who recognises makers before they're famous. Kenyan-rooted and internationally-minded - creating from Kenya, for the world.
What we offer
- A rare double mandate: the strategy seat and the maker's chair at once.
- Real creative authority: you decide what to test, you make it, you brief the experts to make it bigger.
- A story that's actually true: FairChain, roasting at origin, farmers in the value chain - content that only needs telling well.
- A platform to be a face: the stories you develop can carry your name and your presence. Moyee grows, and so does your own voice.
- A team of experts to produce with, and the mandate to grow your own Makers Team.
- More coffee than any human should responsibly drink. Freshly roasted, at origin, on tap. Caffeine overload guaranteed.
Where this can go. If it clicks - and we think it will - you take the same camera and the same energy on the road: making this type of content at coffee festivals across Europe and at our B2B clients. Start behind the phone in Kenya, end up filming Moyee's story wherever it's being poured.
- Know what moves the crowd. Identify the hooks, formats and trends that work - for Moyee and across the wider social landscape - and build a living hook & format playbook the whole team draws from.
