Job Summary

Responsible for preparing nutritious and hygienically prepared meals for students and staff while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus.
• Follow food hygiene and safety standards.
• Ensure food is properly prepared, cooked, stored, and served.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, utensils, equipment, and food-preparation areas.
• Assist with receiving and storing food supplies.
• Monitor food ingredients and report shortages or spoilage.
• Follow appropriate portion-control procedures.
• Minimize food wastage.
• Maintain proper kitchen safety standards.
• Assist with menu preparation and kitchen planning where required.
• Perform other duties assigned by the school administration or kitchen supervisor.

Requirements

• Relevant training or experience in catering, food preparation, or institutional cooking is preferred.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Ability to prepare meals for large groups.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in a busy kitchen.
• Clean, disciplined, reliable, and organized.
• Previous experience in a school, hospital, hotel, or institutional kitchen is an advantage.
