Job Summary
In this role, you will drive business growth by identifying and securing new corporate clients and project clients, building strong long-term relationships and offering tailored solutions for the client’s home appliances and consumer electronics. You will focus on expanding market share, achieving ambitious sales targets and representing the brand at trade shows and client meetings. Reporting to the Senior Key Account Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute innovative sales strategies, monitor performance metrics and foster long-term client partnerships. This role is ideal for a self-motivated sales professional with a proven track record in corporate sales within the consumer electronics or home appliances sector.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development: (40%)
- Identify and develop new sales channels and markets to drive revenue growth.
- Develop and grow business across the key customer segments – Government and county institutions, tenders and public procurement, and SACCOs – alongside corporate and project clients.
- Monitor tender portals and procurement notices, manage supplier registration and pre-qualification with government bodies and SACCOs, and prepare and submit compliant, competitive tender documents within deadlines.
- Build and maintain a database of Government, tender and SACCO contacts, tracking procurement cycles, budget calendars and framework agreements to time engagement effectively.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
- Attend trade shows and product exhibitions to meet prospective clients and promote The client’s products.
Client Relationship Management:(25%)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Schedule meetings with potential customers to understand their needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Handle customer inquiries, respond to calls, and address objections effectively to ensure client satisfaction.
Sales Strategies and Execution: (15%)
- Develop and execute innovative sales strategies to achieve and exceed targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to align on sales initiatives and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and make adjustments to strategies as needed to optimize results.
Reporting and Analysis:(10%)
- Prepare detailed sales reports and provide recommendations for improving processes and performance.
- Continuously analyze market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
Team Collaboration and Support:(10%)
- Work closely with internal teams to coordinate efforts for product launches, promotional campaigns, and client onboarding.
- Provide insights and feedback to inform product improvements and marketing strategies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The performance of this role holder will be assessed based on the achievements made on:
- Revenue & Target Achievement – Consistently meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the client’s products.
- New Client Acquisition – Number of new corporate clients and project clients secured and new sales channels/markets developed.
- Customer Segment Coverage – Growth in revenue, active accounts and pre-qualifications across government and county institutions, tender-based business, and SACCOs.
- Client Relationship & Retention – Client satisfaction levels, retention rates, and number of long-term partnership agreements established.
- Sales Pipeline & Activity Metrics – Number of prospect meetings scheduled, client inquiries handled, trade shows attended, and proposals delivered.
- Contract Negotiation Success – Value and profitability of contracts closed, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
- Strategic Initiative Execution – Effectiveness of implemented sales strategies and collaboration with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, support).
- Market & Competitor Analysis – Quality and timeliness of sales reports, market trend insights, and actionable recommendations for growth.
- CRM & Administrative Compliance – Accuracy and timeliness of sales data entry, pipeline tracking, and reporting using CRM software and MS Office Suite.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in corporate sales, particularly in home appliances and consumer electronics.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Ability to analyze sales performance metrics and translate data into actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
Soft Skills
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Industry Experience
- Experience working in the home appliances or consumer electronics industry.
