Okala is expanding into Kenya!

We are building our East Africa team and looking for a Country Director to establish and lead Okala Kenya. This is a leadership role bringing together ecological expertise, relationship building, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

It is a unique opportunity to found and scale an AI-powered biodiversity intelligence venture in Kenya, and to shape how nature is measured, valued, restored, and protected across one of Africa’s most critical ecological landscapes.

  • Drive commercial growth and manage key client relationships
  • Oversee delivery of biodiversity, ESIA, and nature-related compliance projects
  • Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team
  • Manage partnerships with regulators, communities, and stakeholders
  • Uphold Okala’s standards of scientific integrity, ethics, and inclusion

Education

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

More Details on Experience

  • 8+ years’ leadership experience in biodiversity, ESG, environmental consulting, natural resources, or related sectors
  • Proven track record of setting up or leading operations and delivering commercial results
  • Strong networks in Kenya’s environmental and conservation landscape
