Background
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in the rural areas of developing countries. IFAD works with the rural poor to help them increase their food security, improve their nutrition and raise their incomes.
Responsibilities
The Country Finance Associate will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the IFAD Country Office in Kenya. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the country office budget and financial records.
- Processing payments and reimbursements.
- Preparing financial reports and statements.
- Ensuring compliance with IFAD's financial policies and procedures.
- Assisting with audits and financial reviews.
- Providing administrative support to the country team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in finance and administration, preferably in an international organization or NGO.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of IFAD's mandate and operations is an asset.
