JOB SUMMARY

The County Research Coordinator will lead county-level emancipatory research activities under the Edu-WISE project. The role involves coordinating field researchers, overseeing business mapping and accessibility audits, conducting research activities, ensuring data quality, and contributing to project reporting.

  • Coordinate and supervise three (3) Field Researchers within the assigned county.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Arcò-PIN coordination team.
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and completeness of data collected by the field team.
  • Participate in training on emancipatory research tools provided by Arcò-PIN.
  • Contribute to the design and contextualization of data collection instruments, including interview guides and audit tools.
  • Conduct semi-structured interviews with: Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) and Relevant local stakeholders.
  • Support accessibility audits and business mapping exercises.
  • Compile county-level data and research findings.
  • Contribute to the preparation of mapping reports.
  • Ensure timely submission of research outputs and documentation.
  • Identify and report challenges or ethical issues encountered during fieldwork.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols and ethical standards.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience using digital data collection tools.
  • Ability to enter, manage, and organize data accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage a small team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality data collection.
  • Must be a person with a disability.
  • Ability to travel independently within the assigned county to reach organizations selected for accessibility audits.
  • Membership or affiliation with a local Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
