To strengthen our financial management and working capital efficiency, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Credit Control Manager to join our leadership team.
Job Purpose
The Senior Credit Control Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing credit strategies that support profitable growth, safeguard company assets, and ensure timely cash collection. This position plays a critical role in optimizing cash flow, managing credit risk, and driving strong financial discipline across the customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a company-wide credit management strategy aligned with business and financial objectives.
- Lead credit vetting, approval, and monitoring of customers across all trade channels.
- Oversee the entire receivables function, ensuring collections are timely and within agreed credit terms.
- Manage customer accounts, analyze payment trends, and mitigate credit risks through proactive interventions.
- Drive continuous improvement in credit policies, systems, and procedures to enhance control and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to balance growth opportunities with prudent credit exposure.
- Provide accurate and timely credit reports, debtor aging analyses, and cash flow forecasts to senior management.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the credit control team to deliver on performance and compliance objectives.
- Ensure adherence to company credit policy, internal controls, and relevant legal or regulatory frameworks.
- Manage relationships with customers, legal counsel, auditors, and credit reference bureaus for effective debt recovery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or related field.
- CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3-6 years' progressive experience in credit management, with at least 4 years at middle senior level.
- Experience in FMCG or distribution environment preferred.
- Proven ability to design and enforce credit control policies that balance growth and risk.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Navision, Oracle) and strong Excel/financial modeling skills.
