Description

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a diligent and proactive Credit Controller to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing debts on allocated accounts, processing and reconciling client statements, and building strong, lasting relationships with clients. This is a key role in ensuring healthy cash flow and minimizing financial risk for the organization.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Generate and send out accurate invoices to customers in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and reconcile the debtor ledger monthly to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
  • Handle and resolve debtor complaints efficiently and professionally.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring all debits and credits are properly supported and authorized.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly debt collection reports as required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the company’s credit policy at all times.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records, including invoices, credit notes, ageing reports, and agreements.
  • Identify and recommend outstanding accounts that are potentially uncollectable for provisioning as bad & doubtful debts.
  • Build and maintain amicable and professional relationships with the company’s customers.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA Part 2 or above is a strong added advantage.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience, preferably within the FMCG or Manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven track record as a Credit Controller or in a similar accounts receivable role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • High proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
  • A result-oriented, energetic go-getter ready to face new challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to meet with defaulting customers and secure payment conversions.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
