Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Credit Officer to join our team. The Credit Officer will be responsible for assessing loan applications, managing a portfolio of clients, and ensuring the repayment of loans. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent customer service, and a deep understanding of microfinance principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough credit assessments of loan applicants, including financial analysis and risk evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing guidance and support throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance, identify potential risks, and implement strategies for mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with OYA Microcredit's policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations.
  • Prepare regular reports on loan portfolio status, client performance, and other key metrics.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new loan products and services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit analysis, loan management, or a related role within the financial services sector, preferably in microfinance.
  • Strong understanding of credit principles, financial statement analysis, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the local market and community dynamics is an added advantage.
