DIRECTOR, IRRIGATION MANAGEMENT (DIM) - GRADE NIA 2

  • Job Purpose: Provide Strategic Leadership in the Management of Irrigation Schemes and delivery of Advisory and Extension services.
  • Key Duties: Lead operation and maintenance of Irrigation Infrastructure; Oversee agribusiness development and extension services; Coordinate formulation of irrigation management policies and standards; Oversee operational research and dissemination of irrigation technologies; Manage production strategies; Lead data collection and reporting on water use efficiency; Direct performance contracting and risk management.
  • Person Specifications: Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Civil/Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture (Agronomy/Agribusiness); Relevant professional registration; Minimum 12 years' experience (5 at Senior Management level); Strategic Leadership Development Course (minimum 4 weeks); Core Competencies: Visionary leadership, change management, analytical skills, etc.
