Purpose of Assignment
To strengthen UNICEF’s data systems and analytical capacity and supporting engagement with and assistance to KNBS during ongoing survey analysis and reporting, consolidating child-related indicators into a centralized and well-structured repository, developing automated, user-friendly dashboards and consolidating key situation analysis for children, to improve access to data and evidence for both internal and external stakeholders.
Education
Masters degree in Statistics, Data Science, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or other relevant fields.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of progressive experience in data management and analytics, including digital data systems development.
Proven experience in designing and implementing data repositories, preferably using SharePoint lists, Microsoft Dataverse, or similar platforms.
Experience supporting national statistical offices or government agencies (e.g., KNBS) in data analysis, report writing, or survey processes, particularly large-scale household surveys (e.g., Demographic Health Surveys, Household Budget Surveys).
Experience in evidence synthesis, analytical writing, with ability to review and improve analytical tables, draft narrative sections, and contribute to reports and evidence products such as the SitAn
Experience working with child-related indicators, multidimensional poverty, demographic data, or social statistics is an added advantage.
Skills
Proficiency in Power BI/Tableau dashboard development, including data modelling, interactive visualizations, and automation workflows.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality assurance, metadata standards, and interoperability.
Desirables
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) is highly desirable.
Language
Fluency in English required
