Responsibilities or duties
As a Day Technician at Mars, you will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance of assets and the continuous improvement of our gum processing and packaging functions. You will work to proactively ensure the reliability of plant equipment by executing preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, and identifying energy-saving opportunities. In this role, you will also be a key partner in upholding our Quality, Food Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
- An organized, self-disciplined, and motivated individual who can work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Experience needed
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance systems within an industrial setting, with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude.

The ability to read and interpret drawings/schematics and apply this knowledge to operate, inspect, maintain, and repair complex mechanical systems.

- Execute 100% of assigned planned maintenance activities, including lubrication and inspection tasks, to ensure plant reliability.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex technical issues, using problem-solving tools to find and standardize solutions.
- Own the Defect Management and Breakdown Elimination Daily Management Systems (DMS).
- Build technical capability by coaching, training, and mentoring peers and production line associates.
- Collaborate with project engineers to identify and implement improvements in our processes.
- Effectively manage the area maintenance budget and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings.
