Background

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Debt Collector based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Debt Collector will be responsible for managing debt collection activities and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding credit.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day tasks include contacting customers for overdue payments, negotiating repayment plans, maintaining accurate records of transactions, and collaborating with the finance team to escalate unresolved cases.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Debt Collection and Cash Collection processes

Strong Communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution abilities

Basic Computer Literacy, including working knowledge of data entry and software tools i.e Excel

Understanding of Finance principles, including account management and payment tracking

Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism

Experience

Experience in a similar role is preferred

Education

Diploma or degree in business administration or a related course is required; additional certifications in finance or business are advantageous
