An Events Company is looking for a Delivery Truck Driver responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of event equipment, decor, sound/lighting gear, stage structures, and operational staff to and from event venues. This role goes beyond standard driving it requires active participation in loading and unloading delicate or high-value event assets, adhering to strict event setup deadlines and representing the company professionally on-site.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely drive company vehicles (pickup trucks, vans, or light commercial trucks) to venues across Nairobi and regional locations.
- Ensure all deliveries and collections strictly follow scheduled event timetables.
- Assist event crews in loading, securing (using straps/ropes), and unloading fragile, heavy, or high-value event inventory (furniture, audiovisual gear, tents, floral setups).
- Verify goods against delivery notes, delivery or event checklists prior to departure and upon arrival. Obtain signatures from client representatives or site managers upon delivery/return.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks (tires, oil, coolant, lights, brakes).
- Maintain accurate logbooks detailing mileage, routes, fuel consumption, and service needs.
- Ensure the vehicle remains clean and presentable.
- Identify optimal routes considering traffic patterns, venue access and navigation, route planning, and clearance heights.
- Comply with National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) regulations, traffic laws, speed limits, and safety standards.
- Report any accidents, vehicle defects, or transit delays immediately to management.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
- Valid Kenyan Driving License with appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional commercial driving experience, preferably within logistics, event management, hospitality, or catering sectors or related field.
- Strong knowledge of roads, traffic dynamics, and major urban centers.

- Strong time-management skills,
- Good communication in Swahili and English,
- Problem-solving ability under high-pressure setups,
- Professional personal presentation.
