Responsibilities or duties,
This role is responsible for formulating and overseeing the implementation of policies, strategies and procedures for Customs revenue mobilization and administration within Nairobi & Other Regions.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills),
A Bachelor’s degree in relevant social sciences, Business, Pure and Applied Sciences from a recognized and accredited institution. A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage. Professional qualification and Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing. Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution 2010.
Experience needed,
Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience, at least five (5) of which should be in senior and/or middle management levels.

- Oversee the development and implementation of strategies, policies, standards, initiatives and procedures for revenue collection and mobilization within Nairobi & Other Regions including the Petroleum Monitoring portfolio.
- Coordinate customs revenue collection activities in within Nairobi & Other Regions including the Petroleum monitoring portfolio.
- Oversee waivers, refunds, auctions, warehousing, export processing and special economic zone functions.
- Establish and maintain liaison and working relationships with local, regional and international stakeholders for effectiveness of revenue mobilization.
- Design and implement tools for effective customs revenue monitoring and reporting.
- Coordinate preparation of periodic statutory and revenue performance reports for the department.
- Foster positive corporate culture and ensure implementation of effective quality and risk management systems.
- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day operations, implementing performance management systems, supervision and development of staff.
- Facilitate implementation of the work plans for the following corporate initiatives in the unit: Division: Audit, Integrity, QMS and Risk Management.
- Drive initiatives to improve ethics, culture and facilitate change management in the division.
- Develop budgets, work plans, collection of revenue and ensuring efficient and effective utilization of resources.
