Background
Tourism Fund (TF) is a State Corporation established under the Tourism Act, 2011 which came into operation on 1st September, 2012 vide special issue Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 93 of 24th August, 2012.
Job Specifications
- Ensuring preparation of periodic financial reports and final financial statements.
- Providing leadership and managing talent in the Department.
- Coordinating financial reporting, interpreting financial statements and making recommendations.
- Reviewing financial systems and advising management accordingly.
- Reviewing investment strategies and making recommendations.
- Evaluating cost rationalization opportunities.
- Liaising with auditors to ensure proper monitoring of the Fund’s finances.
- Monitoring compliance with financial requirements.
- Supervising maintenance of financial records and safeguarding financial assets.
- Supervising treasury management.
- Overseeing preparation of budget estimates and monitoring budget compliance.
- Overseeing development and implementation of departmental work plans, budgets and reports.
- Overseeing quality management systems and implementation of audit recommendations.
- Undertaking departmental risk mitigation.
Person Specifications
- Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, with at least four (4) years at Principal Officer level or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance), Business Administration (Accounting), or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent.
- Membership with ICPAK or equivalent professional body in good standing.
- Leadership course certificate lasting at least four (4) weeks.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
