.The Digital Content Lead is responsible for driving end-to-end content creation, social media management, and community engagement across all digital platforms. The role ensures consistent brand storytelling, high-quality content delivery, and meaningful engagement with audiences to support awareness, consideration, and customer experience objectives.

1. Content Strategy & Production

  • Develop monthly content calendars for all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Create, edit, and proofread content - including social posts, podcast scripts, articles, and blogs.
  • Repurpose long-form content (webinars, events, podcast episodes, etc) into digital-first assets.
  • Ensure consistency in brand messaging, tone of voice, and creative quality.
  • Brief designers and external agencies for artwork, video, and other creative production needs.

2. Social Media Management

  • Publish and schedule content across all digital channels.
  • Develop platform-specific strategies to grow reach, engagement, and audience quality.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and brand mentions in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with CX teams to escalate and resolve customer issues raised on social platforms.
  • Maintain a consistent posting cadence and optimise content per platform best practices.
  • Conduct social listening and reputation management, identifying emerging trends, issues, and opportunities.

3. Community Engagement & Influencer Support

  • Build and nurture active online communities by driving meaningful conversations and participation.
  • Manage community engagement during campaigns, events, and product launches.
  • Coordinate with influencers and creators for organic amplification and UGC collection.
  • Track influencer deliverables and ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines.

4. Digital Insights & Reporting

  • Track engagement metrics and performance against KPIs, recommending data-driven improvements.
  • Monitor digital and cultural trends to inform content direction.
  • Conduct basic sentiment analysis and report notable shifts in audience perception.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to align content with paid media campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Old Mutual Thrive, Product Teams, CX, PR, and Experiential teams to deliver integrated communication outputs.

3. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Proven experience in video shooting and editing for social platforms.
  • Ability to lead and manage online conversations and community engagement.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator; After Effects is a plus).
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling abilities.
  • Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools.
  • Solid understanding of content performance metrics.
  • Prior experience in community management.
  • Creative thinker with strong attention to detail.

4. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven hands-on experience in digital content creation and social media management across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Strong practical experience in video production, including shooting, editing, captioning, and optimising video content for different digital platforms.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design and creative production, with the ability to create and adapt visual assets for digital use.
  • Solid working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator; After Effects is an added advantage).
  • Experience in developing and executing content calendars aligned to brand, campaign, and business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of content performance metrics, including reach, engagement, video views, completion rates, and sentiment.
  • Proven experience in community management, including responding to comments, direct messages, mentions, and moderating online conversations.
  • Practical experience in social listening and online reputation management, with the ability to identify trends, manage risks, and surface opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencer and creator management, including identifying suitable creators, coordinating content deliverables, managing timelines, and ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Experience in managing and repurposing user-generated content (UGC) for organic and campaign use.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, CX, PR, product, and experiential teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Experience working with external agencies, designers, videographers, and production partners.
  • Strong understanding of brand governance, tone of voice, and content consistency within a corporate environment.

5. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Film & Media Production, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications or training in Digital Marketing, Content Marketing, Social Media Marketing, or Video Production will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of digital content work (video, social media, campaigns, or creative assets).
  • Practical experience with social media management and analytics tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Sprout, or equivalent).

5. ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING (AML) EXPECTATION

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring adherence to, implementation of, and adoption of Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Sanctions-related policies, procedures, and process requirements within Old Mutual and its subsidiaries. This includes execution of customer due diligence processes, ensuring compliance with Know-Your-Customer (KYC) standards, conducting ongoing and enhanced due diligence, and maintaining data quality. Additionally, the role involves identifying and monitoring potential AML, Sanctions, or Compliance breaches and unusual activities, and escalating these concerns to the Risk and Compliance Office for further action.
