Digital Marketing Manager
Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Digital Manager to lead our digital marketing initiatives and enhance our online presence primarily focusing on Kenya and the East African region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive digital strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth for our crop nourishment portfolio across diverse East African market.
Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Planning;
Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned with business objectives across East African markets
Conduct market research and competitive analysis specific to East African crop nourishment markets
Create annual digital marketing plans with clear KPIs and budget allocation for multi-country operations
Stay current with digital marketing trends and emerging platforms across East Africa
Content Marketing & Brand Management;
Oversee content creation across all digital platforms (website, social media, email, etc.)
Ensure brand consistency and messaging alignment across all digital touchpoints and East African markets
Develop educational content about our crop nourishment products for diverse East African audiences
Manage content calendar and editorial schedules across multiple markets.
Social Media Management;
Lead social media strategy across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Business, TikTok, and LinkedIn
Create engaging campaigns that resonate with diverse East African consumers
Build and manage online communities around crop nourishment topics across different markets
Monitor social media trends and audience insights to optimize content strategy for various East African markets.
E-commerce & Website Management;
Oversee company website performance, user experience, and conversion optimization
Manage e-commerce platforms and online sales channels across East African markets
Collaborate with IT team on website updates, functionality improvements, and mobile optimization
Implement SEO best practices to improve organic search visibility across target markets
Digital Advertising & Performance Marketing;
Plan and execute paid digital advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads)
Manage advertising budgets and optimize campaigns for maximum ROI
A/B test ad creatives, audiences, and campaign strategies
Track and report on campaign performance metrics
Analytics & Reporting;
Monitor and analyze digital marketing performance using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and other relevant platforms
Prepare regular reports on digital marketing KPIs and campaign performance
Use data insights to make recommendations for strategy optimization
Present monthly and quarterly digital performance reviews to management
Affiliate Program Management;
Develop and implement affiliate marketing strategy to expand distribution network across East Africa
Recruit, onboard, and manage affiliate partners including agricultural consultants, agro dealers, and online retailers
Create affiliate marketing materials, training resources, and commission structures
Monitor affiliate performance and provide ongoing support to optimize sales across different markets
Manage affiliate tracking systems and ensure accurate commission payments
Partnership & Collaboration;
Collaborate with sales team to align digital efforts with sales objectives
Work with influencers, agricultural bloggers, and crop health advocates for product promotion
Coordinate with external agencies, photographers, and content creators
Support offline marketing initiatives with digital amplification
Key Performance Indicators
Website traffic growth and conversion rates
Social media engagement and follower growth
Email marketing open rates and click-through rates
Digital advertising ROI and cost per acquisition
Online sales revenue and growth
Brand awareness and sentiment metrics
Customer acquisition and retention rates
Affiliate recruitment numbers and revenue generated through affiliate channels
Affiliate partner satisfaction and retention rates
Qualifications
Education & Experience;
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in FMCG, fertilizer, or farm chemicals sector
Proven track record of managing successful digital campaigns in East Africa
Experience working with multi-country or pan-African markets is highly advantageous
Technical Skills;
Proficiency in digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager, Hootsuite/Buffer)
Experience with content management systems (WordPress, Shopify, etc.)
Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
Understanding of SEO/SEM principles and email marketing platforms
Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online payment systems across East Africa (M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money, etc.)
Experience with affiliate tracking software and commission management systems
Core Competencies;
Strong understanding of East African digital landscapes and consumer behavior
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French proficiency is a plus)
Creative thinking with strong attention to detail
Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze and interpret marketing metrics
Project management skills and ability to handle multiple campaigns across different markets simultaneously
Knowledge of crop nourishment products marketing is advantageous
Cultural sensitivity and ability to adapt messaging for diverse East African markets
Preferred Qualifications;
Professional certification in Google Ads, Google Analytics, or Facebook Blueprint
Experience with influencer marketing and brand partnerships across East African markets
Knowledge of mobile money integration across Africa (M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money, etc.)
Understanding of regulatory requirements for fertilizers and crop nourishment products marketing across East African countries
Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems
Multilingual capabilities (French, Swahili, or other African languages) are highly valued.
