Job Summary
The job holder will support the digital scholarship centre by providing digital media services and produce a wide range of multimedia products appropriate to the faculty, students and staff of AKU; and to effectively support the teaching, learning and research objectives of the university.
Responsibilities
- Provide photography and videography services for AKU Library events and publications.
- Design graphics for AKU publications, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Upload metadata and collate staff publications data for the institutional repository.
- Support faculty and students in blended learning and other learning technologies.
- Develop LibGuides and online courses, working with faculty and subject matter experts to turn course content into engaging digital learning materials such as videos, readings, quizzes, and interactive activities.
- Provide ICT-related support to users and assist with administrative duties for the Library and Digital Scholarship Centre Office as required.
- Service and maintain the Digital Scholarship Centre (DSC) equipment, ensuring it is regularly updated and fully operational.
- Support the Library department in offering circulation and customer services, including the lending and return of library resources such as laptops and tablets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, Multimedia Technology, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years' relevant experience, preferably in an academic or library setting.
- Demonstrated skills in photography, videography, and graphic design software
- Basic ICT troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills.
- Experience developing LibGuides or similar research/learning guides is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Proficiency in both macOS and Windows operating systems.
