Summary
Director, Open, Distance & e-Learning Job PAC University. Responsible for leading open, distance, and e-learning programmes, overseeing digital learning platforms, coordinating academic delivery, and driving the university’s online education strategy. Requires a relevant postgraduate qualification, extensive academic or e-learning management experience, and strong leadership and digital learning skills. The role is based in Nairobi with duties performed on-site.
Qualifications
- PhD in Education Technology, Distance Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- At least seven (7) years of experience in higher education, with at least three (3) years in a senior leadership role in ODeL or e-learning.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing e-learning programs in a university setting.
- Strong knowledge of LMS platforms and other digital learning tools (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas).
- Experience in curriculum design, pedagogy, instructional technology and faculty training for online learning.
- Understanding of Kenyan and global regulations governing online and distance education.
- Proven ability to secure funding through grants, partnerships, and other external sources.
- Ability to foster innovation in teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of emerging global trends in digital education.
- Strong strategic leadership and organizational skills.
- Effective team leadership and capacity building skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
