Background

Othaya-Mukurweini Water and Sanitation PLC (OMWASCO) is a Water Service Provider fully owned by the County Government of Nyeri. It is responsible for efficient and economical provision of water and sanitation services in Nyeri South (Othaya) and Mukurweini Sub counties as per the Water Act 2016.

Role Context

The Company seeks to fill the vacant positions for the Board of Directors. 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an appointment, one must meet the following criteria:

• i) Minimum Bachelor's degree from a university recognized in Kenya (by CUE) or equivalent qualification, i.e. Professional qualifications, e.g. CPA(K), CS(K), etc.
• ii) Minimum seven (7) years working experience in the core profession or have run own enterprises for a minimum of 7 years.
• iii) Must be registered and legal organizations/institutions active within Nyeri South and Mukurweini sub counties, operating under the above indicated two categories and registered under OMWASCO PLC list of stakeholders available on the company website www.omwasco.co.ke.
• iv) Must be a resident of the area served by the company.
• v) Must meet the Fit And Proper Test criteria by WASREB available at both the company website www.omwasco.co.ke and WASREB's website www.wasreb.co.ke. The submitted copy MUST be fully signed by the applicant and authenticated by a commissioner of oaths.
• vi) Proof of compliance with current and valid requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010:
  • a. Certificate of Good Conduct from Directorate Criminal Investigation (DCI).
  • b. Clearance Certificate from accredited Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
  • c. Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  • d. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • e. Clearance Certificate from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Note

i. Suppliers and other trading associates of the Company are not eligible for directorship positions at the Company.

ii. Persons in current professional and social relationships with directors of the Company and/or Company staff are not eligible for directorship positions at the Company.

iii. Women, PWDs and persons of all Kenyan ethnicities who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply.
