Role Purpose

To provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation of staff, equipment, and goods to various kitchens, duka and operations sites while supporting day-to-day operational activities. The driver plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle & Transport

  • Drive company vehicles to transport staff, clients, equipment, and goods to designated kitchen and operations locations
  • Adhere to plan routes and schedule trips to ensure timely arrival, factoring in traffic, road conditions, and weather
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logs: mileage, fuel consumption, trips, incidents
  • Ensure valid driving license, and company ID at all time
  • Maintain confidentiality of company operations and client information

Field Operations Support

  • Assist field teams with loading/offloading materials, equipment, and samples
  • Support basic ops tasks: setting up, deliveries, pick-ups as instructed
  • Run official errands: suppliers, government offices, courier services
  • Act as liaison between field team and office – deliver documents, goods, collect letters, relay info etc

Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks: oil, water, tires, brakes, lights, and report defects immediately
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness, servicing, and insurance/licensing are up to date
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies. No reckless driving or unauthorized use
  • Secure vehicles and goods when parked. Responsible for tools/equipment loaded

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Kenyan Driving License – Class BCE minimum.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct, not older than 6 months
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience driving, with at least 1 year in field operations / logistics
  • KCSE Certificate D+ and above
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks, especially the assigned region
  • Basic mechanical knowledge – able to change tires, check vehicle fluids, identify faults.
  • Defensive driving certificate from AA Kenya, NTSA, or equivalent
  • Fire Safety & First Aid certification
  • Experience in driving manual 4x4 vehicles on rough terrain
  • Basic computer knowledge skills

  • Time management: Punctual and reliable for early/late field deployments
  • Communication: Polite with staff, clients, donors and authorities. Reports clearly and effectively
  • Situational awareness: Able to handle breakdowns, security issues, bad roads
  • Flexibility: Willing to work weekends, public holidays, and travel overnight when needed

  • Efficient staff movement and delivery requirements as scheduled
  • Timely servicing, vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • No traffic or vehicular incidents
  • Proper care of the assigned to ensure fair wear and tear
