Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities entail: -
- Driving vehicles as authorized;
- Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles;
- Cleaning of the assigned motor vehicle;
- Preparing and submitting regular reports on motor vehicle assigned;
- Maintaining a proper mechanical working condition of the vehicle;
- Ensuring security and safety of passengers and vehicle on and off the road;
- Ensuring possession of all the requisite documents for any specific journey;
- Adherence to or observations of traffic laws;
- Reporting any incidents to police and/or the office immediately they occur; and
- undertake any other functions as may be lawfully assigned.
Job Specification
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:
- At least two (2) years proven driving experience;
- At least a mean grade D (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
- Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade I from the Ministry of Roads and Public Works;
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct;
- First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.
