Job Specification

Duties and Responsibilities of the officer will entail: -

  • Drive a vehicle as authorized.
  • Carry out routine checks on the vehicles cooling system, oil, electrical and brake systems, tire pressure etc.
  • Detect malfunctioning of vehicle system.
  • Maintain work tickets for vehicles assigned.
  • Ensure security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road.
  • Oversee safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.

Person Specification

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must: -

  • KCSE mean grade D plain or equivalent qualification.
  • Have Valid driving license free from any current endorsements and valid for any of the classes of vehicles which the officer is required to drive.
  • Six (6) years driving experience
  • Have Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade I from the Ministry of Roads and Public Works.
  • Have First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from a recognized institution.
  • General Computer Knowledge.
  • Have Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya police; and
  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
