Job Purpose

We are seeking qualified, experienced, and safety-conscious individuals to join our Engineering Department as Drivers and Equipment Operators. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating forklifts, trucks, and excavators to support construction and other operational activities while ensuring compliance with company policies, traffic regulations, and occupational health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts, trucks, and excavators.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment are in safe and efficient working condition.
  • Transport raw materials, finished products, equipment, and personnel as required.
  • Load, unload, stack, lift, and move materials using the appropriate equipment while adhering to safe handling procedures.
  • Perform excavation, earthmoving, trenching, and related site preparation activities where applicable.
  • Ensure the proper handling, storage, and transportation of materials to prevent damage or loss.
  • Comply with all company policies, traffic regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Promptly report accidents, breakdowns, mechanical defects, incidents, and unsafe working conditions.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, including vehicle logbooks, fuel usage, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
  • Keep assigned vehicles and equipment clean, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Work closely with supervisors and site teams to ensure efficient completion of assigned tasks.
  • Wear and properly use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • KCSE Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid Kenyan driving licence appropriate for the vehicle or equipment to be operated.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience.
  • Good knowledge of road safety regulations and occupational health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate responsibility, and maintain a high level of safety awareness.
