Responsibilities

Safe Transportation

  • Safely operate company vehicles to move cars between designated locations, and client sites as required.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and internal company policies to ensure safe and responsible driving at all times.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean, roadworthy condition and promptly report any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns.

Route Planning and Navigation

Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure the timely movement of vehicles, taking into account traffic conditions, road closures, and alternative routes where necessary.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Accurately maintain records of mileage, fuel usage, trip movements, and any incidents or accidents in line with company procedures.
  • Promptly report vehicle maintenance or repair needs to the relevant team to minimize operational downtime.

Yard & Operational Support

  • Assist in maintaining accurate Cars on The Lot (COTL) records by ensuring all vehicle movements are properly logged.
  • Support proper and authorized use of KD plates in line with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of operational procedures, including the do’s and don’ts of KD plate usage.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications

Valid driving license (Class B, C, and E); commercial classes are an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum 2-3 years’ driving experience, preferably in fleet or logistics operations.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Nairobi routes and major highways.
  • Clean driving record with a strong focus on road safety and compliance.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance and safety check knowledge.
  • Reliable, honest, and professional, with good communication skills.
