Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Drycleaner Supervisor to join our team in Ruiru. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in housekeeping and dry-cleaning operations, committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day drycleaning and laundry operations to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery.
  • Lead, coach and schedule the drycleaning and housekeeping team; ensure adequate staffing for peak periods.
  • Oversee garment handling processes (sorting, stain treatment, pressing, finishing) to maintain consistent quality and presentation.
  • Conduct quality checks and final inspections before items are returned to customers; address any defects or rework promptly.
  • Train new and existing staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs), stain removal techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure proper operation and routine maintenance of drycleaning machines, presses, boilers and other equipment; arrange repairs when needed.
  • Manage stock of cleaning chemicals, supplies and spare parts; follow FIFO and safe storage practices.
  • Enforce health, safety and hygiene standards across the facility, including PPE use and safe handling of chemicals.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints and special requests professionally; follow up to ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Monitor productivity, turnaround times, quality metrics and wastage; implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and reports (production, attendance, machine downtime, waste) and present them to management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies (fire safety, environmental disposal, labor rules).
  • Support inventory counts and coordinate with procurement/administration for timely resupplies.

Key Qualifications

  • Age: Preferably between 35–45 years
  • Gender: Male
  • Education: Minimum Diploma in a related field
  • Experience: At least 2 years in housekeeping, drycleaning, or related operations; proven track record in factory/operations management.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Hands-on approach to operations and service delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing demands.
  • High level of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the organization’s mission.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Willingness to relocate to Ruiru.
