POSITION SUMMARY

The Ecommerce and Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for driving online sales and brand visibility, managing digital storefronts, executing integrated marketing campaigns (SEO, SEM, social media, Emails), optimizing the customer journey, and leveraging data analytics to maximize return on investment (ROI).

The role requires an experienced professional with a strong understanding of hospitality consumer behavior, destination marketing, travel search trends, local/global SEO, and content optimization strategies tailored for tourism and hospitality businesses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. SEO Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Conduct keyword research targeting hospitality, tourism, travel, dining, and safari-related searches.
  • Create SEO roadmaps for restaurants, camp, and tour packages.
  • Identify growth opportunities to improve search rankings and organic traffic.

2. Website Optimization

  • Optimize website structure, metadata, URLs, headings, and internal linking.
  • Improve website speed, mobile responsiveness, and user experience.
  • Ensure all websites are search-engine friendly and technically optimized.
  • Work closely with web developers to implement SEO best practices.

3. Local/global SEO Management

  • Optimize Google Business Profiles for restaurants, camp, and tour operations.
  • Improve visibility on local searches and map listings.
  • Manage local citations, directory listings, and location-based SEO strategies.
  • Monitor and improve online reviews and reputation signals.

4. Content Optimization

  • Develop SEO-focused content strategies, including blogs, landing pages, destination pages, and tour descriptions.
  • Optimize restaurant menus, accommodation pages, safari itineraries, and travel packages for search visibility.
  • Collaborate with content creators, photographers, and marketing teams.
  • Ensure all content aligns with targeted keywords and customer search intent.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms.
  • Monitor keyword rankings, website traffic, bounce rates, and conversion performance.
  • Prepare monthly SEO performance reports and actionable insights.
  • Recommend improvements based on analytics and market trends.

6. Competitor & Market Analysis

  • Conduct competitor analysis within the hospitality and tourism industry.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer search behavior, and digital marketing innovations.
  • Identify opportunities to outperform competitors in organic search rankings.

7. Link Building & Digital Presence

  • Develop ethical link-building strategies to improve domain authority.
  • Build partnerships with travel blogs, tourism platforms, hospitality directories, and influencers.
  • Support PR and digital campaigns to enhance online visibility.

8. Collaboration & Brand Support

  • Work closely with reservations, sales, ICT, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Support campaigns aimed at increasing direct bookings and restaurant reservations.
  • Assist in digital promotions for seasonal offers, safari packages, and special events.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, IT, Communications, or a related field.
  • SEO certifications or Google certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' proven experience in ecommerce operations and digital marketing.
  • Must have hands-on experience within the hospitality industry, specifically in:
    • Restaurants
    • Camps
    • Tour or Travel Operations
  • Familiarity with ecommerce CMS platforms and CRM/Email tools
  • Experience managing multiple hospitality brands/websites is an added advantage.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong knowledge of SEO principles and search engine algorithms.
  • Excellent understanding of hospitality and tourism digital trends.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or similar tools.
