JOB SUMMARY
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
- MMed in ENT, Head & Neck Surgery/Otorhinolaryngology from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
- Fellowship/sub-specialty training in Paediatric Otolaryngology recognized by KMPDC.
- Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Recognition as a specialist/sub-specialist by KMPDC.
- Retention in the KMPDC register.
- Valid Practice License from KMPDC.
- Valid Indemnity Cover.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate and manage paediatric airway, otologic, rhinologic, and head & neck conditions including congenital anomalies.
Perform paediatric ENT surgeries within credentialed scope, including airway, otology, and endoscopic procedures.
Coordinate MDT care with anaesthesia, paediatrics, maxillofacial, and speech/swallowing services.
Establish and follow peri-operative pathways and safety protocols for paediatric ENT.
Provide outpatient clinics and inpatient consults, including urgent/emergency care.
Contribute to guideline/policy development for paediatric ENT services.
Teach and mentor trainees and allied health professionals.
Participate in audits, registries, and research in paediatric otolaryngology.
